Privacy Policy
Effective [DATE]
Interview Practice (“we”, “us”) is operated by [OPERATOR NAME]. This policy explains what we collect when you use interview-practice.com (the “Service”), why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. Questions go to hello@interview-practice.com.
The short version
- We keep the text of your interviews — transcripts, setups and evaluations — so you can review them. We do not record your audio or video.
- Your interviews are visible to you and to the partner you invited to that interview. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
- We use a small number of service providers to run the Service, including AI providers that process what you say in order to run and evaluate the interview.
- You can delete any interview yourself, and ask us to delete your account and everything it owns.
What we collect
Your account
- From Google sign-in: your name, email address and profile picture. We ask Google for nothing else.
- Password accounts exist only when an administrator creates one; we store a salted hash of the password, never the password itself.
- Your role on the Service, whether the account is active, and when it was created.
What you create
- Interview setups: the field, role, seniority, industry, focus area, length and title you choose, and optionally a background description, a LinkedIn URL, saved profiles and a scheduled time.
- Transcripts: a written record of what was said in an interview, by you, your partner and the AI participants.
- AI-generated content: the questions and scenario prepared for an interview, and the evaluation and coaching produced afterwards.
- Chat messages sent in a meeting room.
- Invitations: the email address of anyone you invite, and the message you send them.
- Feedback you send us, with the page you sent it from, your browser type and window size, to help us reproduce problems.
Content typed into the shared code editor or drawn on the whiteboard is kept in memory for the length of the interview only and is not stored.
Audio and video
Your microphone and camera are carried live between participants and are not recorded. So that the AI can hear you and captions and a transcript can be made, your voice is streamed to our speech-recognition provider as you speak. The AI participants’ voices are generated by the same provider.
Usage and diagnostics
- An activity log of actions such as signing in and creating or starting an interview.
- Counts of interviews created and run, to apply the free-preview limits.
- Performance measurements, error reports and the amount of data each call uses, to keep the Service working.
Cookies and local storage
We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in (secure, not readable by scripts, lasting up to 30 days). We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Your browser may also keep a few interface preferences locally, which never leave your device.
How we use it
- To run interviews: prepare questions, run the AI interviewer or candidate, caption and transcribe what is said, and connect you with a partner.
- To show you your history, evaluations, coaching and progress.
- To send the emails you ask for, such as invitations and interview notices.
- To keep the Service secure and fair, including the free-preview limits, and to fix problems.
- To answer feedback and support requests.
We do not sell your personal information, share it for advertising, or use it to make decisions about you outside the Service.
Who can see your interviews
- You, for interviews you set up or joined.
- Your partner in a human-to-human interview can see that interview’s details, transcript and evaluation.
- Our administrators can access records where needed to operate, support and secure the Service.
Service providers
We share data with these providers only so they can provide their part of the Service to us:
- Google — sign-in.
- Amazon Web Services — hosting and database.
- LiveKit — carrying live audio and video between participants.
- Deepgram — speech recognition (your voice, live) and the AI participants’ voices.
- AI model providers — Anthropic, and where we configure them OpenAI, DeepSeek or OpenRouter — to prepare questions, run the AI participants and produce evaluations. They receive the interview setup and what is said in the interview.
- Grafana Labs — monitoring and diagnostics.
- Our email delivery provider — invitations and notices.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or security of our users, the public or the Service.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and interviews until you delete them or ask us to delete your account. When an account is deleted we remove everything it owns — interviews, transcripts, evaluations, profiles, invitations, feedback threads and chat messages — and keep only anonymised entries in our activity log. Backups may hold copies for a limited period before they expire.
Your choices and rights
- Delete an interview yourself from your dashboard.
- Delete your account by emailing hello@interview-practice.com from the address you sign in with.
- Access, correct or export your information by writing to the same address. Interviews can also be exported from your dashboard as HTML or PDF.
Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law; contact us to exercise them.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited to the people and services that need it, and passwords are stored only as hashes. No system is perfectly secure, so please tell us if you find a problem.
Children
The Service is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger; if you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
International transfers
The Service and its providers may process your information in the United States and other countries whose data-protection laws may differ from yours.
Changes to this policy
We will post any changes here with a new effective date, and tell you by email or in the app before significant changes take effect.
